In 1976, Wings brought their "speed-of-sound" entourage to Yugoslavia for a performance in Zagreb--the first time for any Beatle behind the Iron Curtain. From the opening chords of "Rockshow," Wings thunderously take flight; energized by the incredibly enthusiastic audience. A public obviously hungry for live rock 'n' roll and grateful that Wings came to their country. Note that Paul does a little verse jumble in "Rockshow" leaving the "relic of Jimmy Page's" for later in the song. An error any musician can make in a live setting--and something Paul is no stranger to--but I'll bet the crowd played a big part in making that happen.
The exhuberant applause is not only heard throughout the up-tempo numbers but also during the acoustic songs such as Blackbird, Yesterday, Richard Cory and Long and Winding Road. McCartney told the BBC a week later that it was by far the best Wings concert they've ever had. In our opinion, this is probably the most enthusiastic audience Wings ever played for in their entire touring history.
This project is an upgrade to a previously available version of this performance. It's sourced from the same tape but this upgrade doesn't suffer from any noise reduction, de-hissing or re-equalization--only speed correction. We at the Audio Shack lab felt it was best to leave the tapes as nature intended...naked!

This is the second disc which features more Beatles songs than the first one. You can hear the songs better on this one, probably because the crowd was getting tired, so you can hear acoustic songs like Yesterday or Blackbird well. It still gets the same rating because the quality of the sound is a little bit worse than the first disc, but that remains unnoticed because of the crowd being more silent, as I said before.

Still, this is a must-have on your bootleg list.
