In the 80s, the Ultra Rare Trax series were one of the most famous because it gathered in an excellent quality and with reasonably exact liner notes, some of the best material available.

Today, this material has been booted numerous times and most of it appears on the Anthology. However, for beginner collectors, this collection might be interesting to trade. Once completed, you'll have a good selection of what is available (concert material and Get Back sessions omitted).

This first CD has not much too offer since the Anthology.

The Ultra Rare Trax are pure fantastic, yesterday and today in great quality. But all songs
are copied on various cd so are songs well-known.

it`s ok, same old stuff

Hard to find, but worth it ! Though it goes really quickly (a short thirty minutes), it's the greatest of the best here !
Review by: pimentonOn 22 Oct 2004 at 21:09 CEST
Exactly...only for the begginers collectors. Bad mix of songs in every disc.

UPDATE-Volumes 1-6 are now avalible in one collection. It's a 3 disc set with 2 volumes on each.
well I'm not going to do a review of each disc on every page so heres what I think about Vol. 1-6:
This is a good collection although some of it can be found in other places but it's good to have because there's stuff on here that you can't get elsewhere.Good quality throughout the collection and lots of cool different versions.

The Classic! Today nothing new, `cause all tracks are various copied for countless discs. But at that time, it was a fantastic album. I still love this discs. Try to find this discs now is very hard. Good luck!

Arguably the begining of the modern booty era. Prior to this you were still using vinyl or tape trades. I picked this up at the time having only previously heard things like 20x4 and other vinyl of that ilk. Pure delight at the time. Of course it's all fairly old hat almost 20 years later.

Pure nostalgia listening to it again!

A very good CD to start. It sounds really fine, and appeared a lot of time before the Anthologies! I think my favorite track is "If you've got trouble", but the most important is perhaps Strawberry fields forever's 26th. track.

For anyone just starting with bootlegs these are a must. The first boots i ever bought were vols 1 - 4 on the original swingin pig coloured vinyl. Still have them but tranfered them to cd long ago. Swingin pig released some great stuff.
