This was the 3rd release in a 3 part series called The Beach Boys Collectors Series that came out in 1976/77. Vol.1 was a copy of The Bob and Sherry 45: Surfer Moon/Humpty Dumpty, produced by Brian. Vol.2 was an EP called Hawthorne Hotshots. All the songs that were on it are now on cd's in better quality. Vol.3 was called: The Definitive Honeys Vol.III. It was a box set. The cover on it was their one and only picture sleeve. Inside was the lp, a poster of a fake concert with The Honeys, The 4 Speeds and The Beach Boys at some high school in California. Also included was a booklet with a brief history of The Honeys and some info on the songs on the LP. This LP includes all of their singles as of this time Plus Gary Usher and The Usherettes (The Honeys) "Three Surfer Boys". The rest are demos.
Thanks to Billy 741 for info!

Only recommended for Honeys fanatics or completists. Although there is some lovely music here, all but one track is available (sometimes in better quality) on other more comprehensive collections.
The country flavored "When I Think About You" is found nowhere else.

For a fairly comprehensive collection of The Honeys/American Spring, the following are essential:

Spring...plus (See For Miles See CD 269 or Rhino 75762) both OOP
The Honeys Collection (Collectors Choice CCM-163-2) in print
The Honeys Collectors Series (Capitol CDP 7-93193 2) OOP
The Honeys Rare Archives (unknown) boot
Ecstasy (Rhino RNLP 851) OOP

For pathetic Honeys/American Spring addicts who want tracks not included in the above search for:

Get The Boot or Get The Boot disc 2 for the lovely "Snowflakes" by American Spring. All Beach Boys fans should have these discs whether they like American Spring or not.

In The Beginning (Sea Of Tunes) for the fantastic never before booted "Funny Boy". Great lead vocal by Ginger Blake.

The Definitive Honeys Vol. III for "When I Think About You"

Let's Go Trippin' (Ace CDCHD 630) or Dot 16518 (45) Three Surfer Boys b/w Milky Way for "Milky Way" (Gary Usher & The Usherettes)

Brian Wilson "Rarities Vol. 16" (Dumb Angel) for "Rabbits Foot", without lead vocals which have never been released (and may not exist) and for a "Surfin' Down The Swanee River" backing track.

Brian Wilson "Rarities Vol. 17" (Dumb Angel) for:
"Summertime"
"The One You Can't Have" backing track
"(I can See Right Through You (Go Away Boy)" backing track
"Dead Man´s Curve" Jan & Dean with The Honeys and Brian Wilson.

Brian Wilson "Rarities Vol. 18" (Dumb Angel) for "Thinkin' 'Bout You, Baby" performed by The Honeys, and "He's A Doll" backing track.

Brian Wilson "You're Friend Of Mine" (Sabu) for "Walls", plus demos, alternate versions and tracks with Honeys/Spring backing vocals.

Various Artists - Makin' Waves (Sharky 0003) for:
Rodney & the Brunettes (Honeys & Ramones) - Surfin' Safari
Rodney & the Brunettes (Honeys & Blondie) - Little G.T.O.
plus 5 Honeys radio spots

Little Deuce Coupe/All Summer Long (twofer) for "Be True To Your School" (Single Version) with cheerleader chants by The Honeys.

There is supposedly a Honeys track that has never been released in any form entitled "Miss My Little Surfer Boy" (The Honeys as The Westwoods) September 1963 (Brian produced). However, the Westwoods are not the Honeys (Marilyn Wilson does sing backing vocals), the producer is Phil Spector, the title is "I Miss My Surfer Boy Too" and it was released on a single in 1965 (OOP).
