True Stereo Outfake
Dr. Ebbett
(date unknown)
The Beatles
This is an "outfake" bonus track. It is an edited complete version of the song from the March 5, 1963 recording session in true stereo. In addition, it has given a new "remix" - that is, the vocals and bass are centered, while the rest of instruments maintain their place in the stereo image.
16.
Let It Be(Lennon/McCartney)
4:04

Outfake
Dr. Ebbett
(date unknown)
The Beatles
Another "outfake". While both the single and LP versions of the song are derived from the same take, they are different in several ways - not the least of which are the guitar solos. Although both of these guitar solos exist on the original session tape, no version has ever been issued featuring both. This new "mix" does just that.

Get it just for the Let It Be outfake! Both guitar solos sound like they belong there. Good job!

The first Beatles boot I ever got, it was 20 years ago about today. Of course it's been far supplanted since, but it sure was exciting to listen to at the time!

Great sound throughout, and Let It Be with both guitar solos is a must have. But is it really an outfake? Do we have a standard definition for outfake? I've always considered it to be any edit performed outside of Abbey Road. But according to Lewisohn pg 195 January 4, 1970, overdubs resulted in what was called Take 30. "...the 8 track master tape had 2 lead guitar solos, playing side by side: the 30 April 1969 overdub and this new overdub". Remix stereo 2 using the 1969 overdub of this tape was used for the single. Remix stereo 1 using the 1970 overdub and mixing out the 1969 overdub was used for the LP version. What appears on this Sessions CD is take 30 in an unauthorized, not commercially released mix (no edits) that features both guitar solos. If master tape remixes and isolated tracks count as outfakes, then virtually every track on every Beatle bootleg CD is an outfake. Let me know if I'm not seeing this right.

@ stujo4. Nice thinking! Only... not every beatleg consists of master tape remixes or isolated tracks. And yes those are outfakes.
By the way at this very moment I'm in the public library's silence room with my notebook listening to this very CD's Mary Jane on the headphones. Everybody is looking at me thinking I might have "smoke" something... ;-)

I just love that Let it Be mix (I was thinking to do it myself) More original than the Anthologys.
Five to me, thank you Dr.Ebbetts.

A nice and good sounding Ebbetts release up to his usual standards.Just 9 stars because today it's a little bit dated. The quality is flawless though.

Finally got it and originall!!!. I don't understand yet why Apple didn't release this album is amazing, and the stereo is perfect (Dr. credits?). Four stars for this one.
