I love the vinyl version of this. There is 2 different CD mixes of this. The one that comes as a package deal with Lumpy Gravy 2, has all the censored stuff in, but runs at a much faster speed than the original lp. The individual WOIIFTM, is identical to the original lp, with all the "bad: stuff censored. It definately confused Daddy Dinky! I would suggest getting the individual version as it is true to the original LP. This(especially now in hindsight) album was/is a great obsevation by Frank at how phoney the whole Flower Power/Summer of Love turned into. It may have begun with good intentions, but............ and Frank didn't miss the mark. If you just don't get it, oh well. Hey the great spoof on the Pepper cover alone was genius! After a few listens you will be left to contiplate just what the ugliest part of your body is! RIP Frank!

This was the first Zappa album I ever got and I wasn't disapointed. I think this is a truly great album. I recommend it to anybody...

I had known Zappa for quite a while but this album was it that really got me into his stuff. To my mind, it's a masterpiece, and it's a very funny one! I love Flower Punk - it's a variation of Hey Joe ("hey punk, where're you going with that button on your shirt?")...
Those tiny bits between the songs and sometimes between verses are incredible - just imagine this was released in 1968 when other people put out a white album, Electric Ladyland or A Saucerful Of Secrets! This was so weird it wasn't comparable to anything else ever heard before...

Well, it's definitely in my top-20 list of albums.
LISTEN TO IT!

BTW: there are plenty of vinyl versions differing greatly in censored passages and I've also heard many different A&B matrix combinations - the people at the pressing plants sometimes also mixed up differently censored versions of both sides. Sometimes the line "flower power sucks" was edited out (but you could hear the fading echo of the line), some deleted "I don't do publicity balling for you anymore" and there's a really bad edit that omits half a verse of Let's Make The Water Turn Black which results in an ugly and obvious 'skip' ... MANY more not mentioned...

This is a trippy album but a good one. It contains the classic humor typical of Zappa as well as his catchy tunes and excellent guitar playing. This is definitely an album you have to listen to all the way through because none of it makes sense out of context. Another great Zappa album. Great stuff Frank.
